Karl Renz: That is the nature of the mind.  It always creates – the other shore is better than this shore. This shore is greener than this one. It’s like you make it always – the other side is better than there. If you reach the other side, then you look back and then you think – Oh, it was not so bad before on the other side, so I better go back. You are always restless. That’s called mind. But what to do with it. It’s just the nature of restless phantom, always looking for something was better – advantage, advantage, advantage. And never can stop. So you have to be inspite of that phantom. Because the phantom will always be restless. There will be no final destination, final home or anything.

Karl Renz: The Self always enjoying itself by being the Self. So that what is Self enjoys even the unenjoyment of that what is not Self. Absolutely, you can never disturb the perfect happiness of the Self. This cannot be disturbed by anything. And that what can be disturbed is not the Self, that’s all. And the Self never cares about that what is not Self. The Self is not the caretaker of that what is the unfolding of the Self.

Karl Renz: Being quiet is just being complete. You can do working, speaking, thinking – everything. You can eat. That doesn’t influence your completness. Or to be quiet is not talking or being silent or something. No. Being quiet means you are quiet, you are complete in your nature.

And that is 24/7, and that is meditation – being quiet, being complete. That is meditation without a meditator. Because a meditator is always incomplete. He wants to make something complete. But he will never make it complete, always incomplete, always greedy bastard – the meditator, greedy for peace, greedy for control. What to do with him. He cannot make you more or less as you are anyway. So you can be very generous – let it be as it is. May it be as it is. Let him struggle or not. Let him be a controller, a master. Karl Renz: You just are. Don’t call it anything. The pointer is just you are inspite of two liquids meeting and the body coming out. Not because you were born by or made by something.

You experience yourself as something what is local. But what you are is never local. You have no location or anything. It’s an experience of… like a baby and then growing, and it’s all experiencing and then it will end. And still you are that what was before. So you were before, you are now and you will be after, uninterrupted. So you didn’t get more when you were born, and you don’t get less when you die. Karl Renz: Demons. The only demon I know it is a me. That is Presence, the demon is there, the me. It’s a paper dragon, come on. Cannot do anything. Many have this idea: you have to kill the dragon inside, the ego like a dragon. You have to become like Roland from Bremen, then you are untouchable – you have this armor around you, like a screen you cannot penetrate. But if there is one part, one little thing, there is a leaf, and then comes ouuu, so no way out.

Question: What about the dream state?

Karl Renz: Here. Here. This is dream state.

Question: No, what we normally call the dream state?

Karl Renz: This is dream state. I am not normally here. This is dream state. You think I am normal? Don’t say we. What you call dream state. At night when you dream, what is then? You think that dream state is different than this state?

Question: What is the difference?

Karl Renz: No difference. This will be gone and that is gone. That what happened last night will be gone and this will be gone too. So it cannot be Reality because it is sometimes and it is gone. It’s like this life or this whatever experience. That is why it’s called dream state. That what is not dream or that what is Reality cannot be sometimes and sometimes not. So whatever has a beginning and an end is a dream state.

So your life now is a dream experience. Mahendra’s life being born and then dying is just a dream. The Merry-go-round. What a dream. So no difference of the night dream or this day dream. It’s both dream. You have nothing to gain here and you have nothing to gain in the dream.  As you have nothing to lose here, as you have nothing to lose at night in your night dream. You are always happy when you wake up from it in the morning. It was maybe a nightmare. So but all nightmares and good dreams are ending. And be happy about it that is just a dream. Karl Renz: I will add… “because you cannot be otherwise”. For That you don’t need to do anything, not even to be beyond, which can still be a desire. But you are what you are with desire or without desire. Whether you are stupid or intelligent you cannot lose this absolute knowledge, because you are That, whether you like it or not. You play stupid, that’s all.

Karl Renz: That is Nisargadatta said, “I am That.” Finished.

But first they always start what you are not: you are not the body, you are not… It starts always like that. And then you go to the total background, substratum. And then from there you shift to what you are not. Because knowledge doesn’t know anything. But it always starts like a substrating everything until even the substrater is substrated.
